Mailing address

  • Money orders or cashier's checks when sent under the jail's funds rules
Do not send

  1. 01

Online: choose California, then Yuba County, enter facility ID 795901, and use the booking number.

  2. 02

Lobby kiosk at 215 5th Street: cash or card. Cashier windows at the jail are closed. The kiosk gives no change and deposits are final.

Release and property

Bail, property, and commissary pickup

01Bail at the lobby

Full amount only

The jail lobby accepts the full bail amount in U.S. currency, cashier's check, or money order payable to Yuba County Jail through the control-room deputy. A bail bond company is another option. Posting bail does not always mean release: a probation hold, parole hold, another county's warrant, or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody.

02Personal property

Pickup is available 24 hours

Property pickup is available 24 hours a day through the jail lobby phone. Bring valid identification.

03After release

Uncollected commissary

Uncollected commissary may be picked up Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and is held for 90 days.

After booking

Court, a lawyer, probation, and parole.

Court, counsel, and probation are separate from the jail. State parole is a different agency. This is the process a family actually has to walk—not a directory of private bondsmen or attorneys.

01 Same courthouse

Find the court date

Ask the Criminal Division for the hearing time. In-custody arraignments are generally heard at 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Check the calendar in the second-floor lobby. The court locations page lists Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The Criminal Division lists office hours 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Misdemeanor and felony hearings require a court appearance. The court says extensions are not granted. Missing court can lead to a warrant.

(530) 740-1800 Option 4

02 Appointed or hired counsel

Ask at first appearance

If you do not hire a lawyer, ask the judge at the first court appearance to appoint one. The court may later order the defendant to repay all or part of the cost.

The District Attorney FAQ lists the Yuba County Public Defender’s Office at this number. The county does not publish a Public Defender department page or street address.

(530) 741-2331

03 County supervision

Probation is Suite 154

Pre-Trial Services assesses eligible people booked at this jail and can recommend detention, release, or conditions. A probation hold can block release even after bail is posted.

Call (530) 749-7550 about someone on probation. The department routes the call to the assigned officer or the Security Information Officer.

(530) 749-7550

04 State parole, not county

No Marysville parole office

CDCR’s northern parole directory does not list a Marysville or Yuba County office. State parole is not the county probation department. Report to the office named in the release papers. The nearest listed office may not be the assigned office.
