The downtown Correction Center I at 370 S. Front is historical; the Sheriff’s 2024 report describes its closure and the November 18, 2024 transfer of intake to Karnes. Center II remains active for housing. Juvenile detention, community corrections, Franklin Medical Center/state prison and federal custody are separate. Both current adult links open the same practical guide with facility-specific exceptions.
