The details you need.
In one place.

Sources reviewed

Operational guide for the adult Sheriff jail at 1905 Indianapolis Avenue. Excludes juvenile, state, federal, municipal, historic, court, supervision, transitional and contract identities except expressly bounded relationships.

  1. Confirm custody

Use JailTracker and Corrections; do not rely on one lookup.

  2. Confirm the rule

Ask the responsible owner before paying or traveling.

  3. Preserve the record

Keep names, times, receipts, confirmations and errors.

  4. Separate systems

Do not blend jail, court, provider and Community Corrections rules.

PART 01

Start here

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Facility identity and boundaries

Use Boone County Jail / Ern K. Hudson Justice Center at 1905 Indianapolis Avenue, Lebanon, IN 46052 for adult Sheriff custody. The county says the expanded justice center was fully operational by July 28, 2026. The Sheriff staff page still describes a 221-person facility, while older history describes the 1992 building and 2007 expansion; treat capacity as source-dated, not a live count. Do not substitute the historic jail/distillery, Community Corrections work release, courts, juvenile services, municipal lockups, IDOC prisons, federal custody, probation, or another county jail.

Locate and verify custody

Start with the Sheriff inmate-lookup page and its linked JailTracker roster. Search spelling variants and the full legal name. If no result appears, call Corrections at 765-483-5780 or the 24-hour Sheriff line at 765-482-1412, option 1; recent booking, release, transfer, alias, or data-entry timing can explain a miss. Use Indiana VINE for custody alerts, MyCase for court filings, and the IDOC locator only after a state-prison transfer. None is a substitute for confirmation from the holding agency.

Call the right desk

For custody, booking, release, property, or an urgent welfare concern, call Corrections at 765-483-5780 or the Sheriff at 765-482-1412, option 1. Jail Commander Tim Turner is listed at 765-483-5782 and tturner@co.boone.in.us. For medication delivery, the published medical line is 765-483-3376. Use 888-506-8407 for ICSolutions account or connection failures and 866-345-1884 for Access Corrections deposit support. Do not send private medical details to a general mailbox unless staff directs you.

PART 02

Visits and communication

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Video visitation rules

Boone publishes video visitation through ICSolutions rather than a current in-person family schedule. The local page says visits are 25 minutes, available seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., after 72 hours in custody. Register, select Boone County and the person by last name or ID, state the relationship, fund the account if needed, choose a date and time, and save the confirmation. The same page conflicts on whether one or three home visits are free and still attributes the arrangement to construction; confirm the current allowance in the live account or with jail staff before paying. Additional visits are listed at $12.50 for 25 minutes, but verify at checkout.

Sources: visits · icsVisit · justiceFinance

ID, minors, conduct and exceptions

The local rule requires sufficient identification but does not publish an accepted-ID list. A person under 18 must be with a parent or legal guardian and remain with that adult. Disturbance, intoxication, contraband, photographs, showing websites or social media, and other electronic-device use are prohibited; remote visitors follow the same conduct rules, and visits may be monitored and recorded. The jail does not publish a family dress code, infant-item rule, disability accommodation path, special/long-distance process, or late-arrival rule. Ask Corrections before the appointment. Attorneys may visit except 6:00–8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., and 4:00–6:00 p.m.; local video-kiosk attorney visits are described as not recorded.

Sources: visits · corrections

Create and troubleshoot the video account

Create the ICSolutions account before choosing the person and appointment. For offsite video, install the provider software and use a supported browser, camera, microphone, speakers and reliable connection; run the provider test early. If the person is missing, the visit is rejected, or the session fails, keep the confirmation and error message, check the account history, then contact ICSolutions at 888-506-8407 and Corrections at 765-483-5780. Boone does not publish local cancellation deadlines, failed-session credits, no-show refunds, or device-station rules, so do not promise a refund.

Sources: visits · icsInstall · icsFaq

Phone accounts and blocked calls

Boone identifies ICSolutions for direct calls from a resident debit account and for collect calls. Calls are monitored and recorded. A prepaid account is tied to a designated number; a debit account lets the resident call approved numbers. Before adding money, confirm the correct account type and displayed rate. Boone does not publish a current local per-minute rate or every fee. For silence, fast disconnects, or blocked calls, add the ICSolutions support number to contacts, check carrier spam/robo-call blocking, then call 888-506-8407. Do not use call forwarding, three-way calling, or other features staff may treat as misuse.

Sources: corrections · icsPrepaid · icsDebit · icsBlocked

Digital messages and photos

The Sheriff corrections page links GettingOut Secure Mail for digital messages and photos. The provider says photos are submitted through its app, are subject to facility approval, and rejected photos are not refunded. Boone does not publish local message/photo prices, tablet availability, delivery timing, size limits, blocked-contact rules, or whether every housing unit participates. Confirm the facility shown in the account before purchase and keep receipts. A provider link is not proof that a specific service is available to every person.

PART 03

Mail, books and money

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Personal mail checklist

Address personal mail with the sender’s full name and return address, the resident’s full name including middle initial, C/O Boone County Jail, 1905 Indianapolis Avenue, Lebanon, IN 46052. Use black or blue pen. The local page prohibits greeting cards; marker, crayon, pencil or colored pen; stationery, stamps, envelopes or sticky notes; clips, metal, plastic, lamination, balloons or jewelry; stickers, labels, tape or glue; glitter, paint or string; padded/bubble mailers; ID or phone cards; and cash or checks. The page says noncompliant mail may be returned in some passages and placed in property in others. Do not assume delivery or copying; call the jail if the item is important.

Sources: mail

Books, photos, newspapers and packages

Books must be paperback and sent from a verifiable online bookstore such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble; no individual delivery, hardcover, CD, DVD, or tape. The jail lists a five-book maximum. Newspapers must arrive by U.S. mail from the publisher. Magazines and subscriptions are not accepted. Photos must be on glossy photo paper and cannot depict pornography, nudity, suggestive content, gangs, tattoos or hand signs. Boone publishes no general package program. Verify title, seller, quantity and recipient name before ordering because rejected items are not promised a refund.

Sources: books · mail

Deposits, commissary and release balance

Current corrections guidance identifies Access Corrections online, 866-345-1884, and a 24-hour lobby kiosk accepting cash, credit or debit; all Access channels carry a fee. A money order may be mailed to the resident at 1905 Indianapolis Avenue with the sender’s name and address. A separate administration page still directs people to construction-era Sheriff Office Trailers and a courthouse kiosk with a $4 fee; the justice center is now fully operational, so confirm physical deposit locations before travel. Keefe commissary orders are placed on the resident kiosk, sent Tuesday and delivered Wednesday. At release, the remaining account balance is described as a debit card. Boone does not publish current product prices, deposit caps, refund timing, indigent supplies or a complete fee table.

PART 04

Health, rights and safety

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Medical access and family communication

The jail identifies Southern Health Partners, nursing 24 hours a day, a physician weekly, dental service every four to six weeks, daily sick call, and onsite x-ray, lab and mental-health services. A health screening and physical are described within 14 days. The FAQ lists a $10 medical copay but says care is not denied for inability to pay. Residents submit medical requests. For medication delivery, family must call 765-483-3376, make an appointment, and bring prescriptions in the original bottle for approval. For an urgent safety or medical concern, call 765-482-1412 and state the concern plainly; call 911 for an immediate community emergency.

Sources: medical · corrections · contact

Mental health and suicide concern

The medical page says mental-health services are available onsite and staff receive suicide-prevention training, but Boone publishes no direct behavioral-health desk, crisis-request form, family collateral-information form, response time, or continuity-of-care protocol. A family member should call the 24-hour Sheriff line at 765-482-1412, option 1, identify the person and housing if known, describe behavior, threats, diagnosis and time-sensitive medication, and ask staff to document and route the concern to medical. Do not wait for email in an urgent situation.

Sources: medical · contact

Medication, records, glasses and devices

Medication must arrive in the original prescription bottle by appointment through 765-483-3376 and is subject to medical approval. Rejected medication is described as returned at release; a released person may call the same number, and medication pickup is listed as available 24 hours a day. The jail does not publish the authorization form or fees for medical records, how family information is received without disclosure back, or procedures for glasses, contacts, dentures, CPAP, hearing devices and mobility aids. Ask medical staff for the current procedure before bringing anything.

Sources: corrections · medical

Resident grievance and public complaint

Indiana jail standards require a written resident-grievance procedure, prompt investigation and a written disposition, and the Sheriff page says the procedure is distributed at admission. Boone does not publish the form, filing deadline, appeal level, confidential submission route, emergency review, or retaliation-reporting path. A resident should ask housing staff for the written procedure, keep dates and copies if permitted, and identify the requested remedy. The separate public complaint form concerns Sheriff employees and is not a substitute for the resident grievance. Anonymous public complaints may limit follow-up and results.

Sources: corrections · standards · complaint

Disability, language and communication access

Boone does not publish a jail ADA coordinator, request form, interpreter process, TTY/video-relay instructions, accessible visitation setup, or appeal route. For custody accommodations, call Corrections at 765-483-5780, describe the functional need rather than only a diagnosis, identify the requested accommodation, and ask who owns the request and when to follow up. For an ICSolutions access problem, contact provider support at 888-506-8407 as well. Do not assume a transportation accommodation automatically applies inside the jail.

Sources: contact · staff · icsFaq · standards

Sexual safety and PREA reporting

Boone’s public jail pages do not identify a PREA coordinator, third-party reporting line, outside reporting agency, anonymous channel, investigation office, or victim-services partner. For an immediate threat, contact the 24-hour Sheriff line at 765-482-1412, option 1, clearly state that the concern involves sexual safety or PREA, and ask for separation and medical attention as needed. Ask staff for the current confidential or third-party reporting method. Do not use the employee-complaint form as the only route for a resident sexual-safety report.

PART 05

Court, counsel and release

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Court and case tracking

Use Indiana MyCase to verify the cause number, charges, hearings and filed orders; confirm urgent changes with the Boone County Clerk at 765-482-3510. The courthouse is 307 Courthouse Square, Lebanon, IN 46052. Published court contacts include Circuit Court 765-482-0530, Superior Court I 765-482-0450 and Superior Court II 765-482-6502. A roster entry is not a complete case history, and MyCase may lag a signed order or omit confidential material. Match the person and cause number before relying on a result.

Sources: mycase · clerk · circuit · superior1 · superior2

Counsel and confidential communication

At the initial hearing, the judge addresses counsel and may appoint an attorney if the person qualifies and cannot afford one. Boone does not publish a standalone county public-defender intake office for family applications. Check MyCase for the appointed lawyer and hearing, then confirm with the court clerk. Lawyers should arrange confidential contact with Corrections and should not assume ordinary family phone or video accounts are privileged. Attorney visits avoid the three published meal/shift windows, and local video-kiosk attorney visits are described as not recorded.

Sources: prosecutor · mycase · clerk · visits

Bond and pretrial release

The Sheriff FAQ says bonds may be paid 24 hours a day by credit/debit or through a licensed surety; cash bond may be paid by money order to the Boone County Sheriff or by credit/debit. A surety premium is nonrefundable. Confirm the current bond type, exact amount, accepted payment channel, payer ID, fees, release conditions and active holds with the jail and filed court order before paying. Use the Sheriff’s current approved-bondsmen list without treating listing as a recommendation. Indiana’s pretrial system is not the old cash-bail system in every case; follow the current order.

Sources: corrections · bondsmen · mycase · prosecutor

Property release and pickup

The resident must sign a property release. The FAQ says all property except clothing may be released. After an IDOC transfer, the person designates who may collect property. Property is held for 30 days after transfer or release; schedule pickup through 765-482-1412, option 1, and bring identification. Boone does not publish pickup days, public counter, release-door location, proxy form, lost-property claim, or accommodation process. Confirm the appointment and exact entrance before travel.

Sources: corrections · contact

Release timing, medication and holds

Do not promise a release time. Court processing, identity checks, another warrant or detainer, transportation and discharge work can change timing. The Sheriff says a person held for alcohol or drugs remains until no longer intoxicated. At release, the account balance is described as a debit card. Medication pickup is listed 24 hours a day after calling 765-483-3376. Boone does not publish the discharge door, pickup waiting area, clothing rules, ride-call sequence, phone charging, document checklist, or how families learn of a delay. Confirm directly before departure.

Sources: corrections · medical · mycase

Programs, treatment and reentry

The jail substance-use program accepts resident written requests and describes male and female programming with aftercare. County MAT has separate eligibility, supervision and application requirements, including applying about 60 days before release. Community Transition is for an eligible IDOC population and requires court approval; Work Release is a separate Community Corrections residential program, not ordinary jail housing. Ask the resident’s counselor which program actually applies. Do not present shared-campus offices or a state-approved residential bed as a jail entitlement.

Sheriff, court and medical records

Use MyCase and the Clerk for filed court records. Contact the Sheriff records function through the main office for incident, booking, public-record or jail-record questions, and ask for the correct request form, fees, identification and exemptions before paying. Medical records are controlled separately; Boone does not publish a current jail medical-record authorization or fee schedule. The roster, incident report, medical chart and court docket are different records with different owners. State exactly which record, date range and person you need.

PART 06

Travel and local support

Verified procedures, conflicts and next actions for this stage.

Arrival, parking and access

Navigate to 1905 Indianapolis Avenue. The county’s 2026 project report confirms an additional parking lot and exterior concrete stairs, but neither that report nor the current jail pages identify the public visitor entrance, drop-off lane, accessible route, after-hours door, or which spaces are for jail visitors. Older pages still mention construction-era trailers and an east-side door, even though the center is fully operational. Do not follow those stale directions without confirmation. Call 765-483-5780 before travel, arrive early, follow posted signs and preserve accessible spaces.

Reservation transportation

Boone Area Transit System is demand-response, not a fixed-route jail stop. It serves Boone County residents of all ages Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., first come and subject to capacity. Reserve at 765-482-5220 or 317-873-8939. Published public fares are $4 per stop within one city or town and $6 per stop outside, payable by exact cash, check or ticket; confirm fare and eligibility when booking. Ask specifically for 1905 Indianapolis Avenue, door-to-door assistance if needed, the pickup window and return plan. A request is not a confirmed ride, and a return wait may be up to 30 minutes.

Sources: bats · cirta

Seven service-planning dates

The published weekday window supports planning for September 29–30 and October 1–2 and 5–7, 2026. Each is only a published service-window date; none is a booked ride, fixed stop, live arrival or guarantee. Call BATS, state the origin, 1905 Indianapolis Avenue destination, mobility needs and return time, and record the confirmation. Weekend service is not published.

Sources: bats · cirta

Food, lodging and community support

The county resource guide lists The Caring Center, 1230 Ransdell Court, 765-482-2020, for food and basic needs; Shalom House, 304 W. Green Street, 765-891-9065, for community meals; and Life’s Journey Recovery Center, 522 Powell Street, 765-891-2659, for food, clothing, hygiene and recovery support. Hours and eligibility can change, so call first. The county tourism office lists Lebanon lodging including Fairfield by Marriott, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express near Mt. Zion Road/Gateway Avenue; confirm same-day room, rate, accessibility and check-in directly. Inclusion is logistical, not endorsement.

Finding someone held here

Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
