Find the person and destination
Custody, identifiers and system boundaries.
Confirm custody and save the SOID
Use the sheriff's live custody search for charges and bond amounts. Match the booked name and identifying details, then retain the SOID, booking details, each charge, bond and court information shown. Allegations are not convictions.
- Try spelling variants or a shorter name.
- For a recent arrest, ask the arresting agency whether the person has reached county booking.
- If the search fails or a record is unclear, call the detention switchboard at 770-499-4200; ask whether the person is booked, transferred or released.
The sheriff's interruption notice is dated September 4, 2025. It is evidence of a fallback number, not proof of a continuing outage today. The search could not be rendered during this review; that does not establish its availability to every visitor. An empty result never proves release.

The jail, Visitors Center and work program are different destinations
| Destination | Address / contact | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Adult Detention Center | 1825 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008 · 770-499-4200 | Adult county custody; Buildings A, B and C Tower belong to this jail complex. |
| Visitors Center | 1877 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008 · 770-499-4359 | Visits; bonding and approved account withdrawals also use this location. |
| Work Deployment Center | 770-499-4340 | Separately approved sentenced work crews and work-release participants. |
This guide covers the adult detention center only. The directory's Prison Unit Operations Unit and Work Release Center records are not additional buildings with automatically identical family rules. Youth custody, municipal court, state prison and federal custody require their own confirmation. Jail Administration is 770-499-4221, Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM.

Visits and calls
Approval, conflicting schedules, devices and account help.
Register first, then reserve the actual session
- Pre-register at Cobb VisitMe or the Visitors Center kiosk.
- Present original, valid government photo ID to staff for approval. The sheriff lists registration hours of 7 AM–10 PM; arrive at least 15 minutes before a first visit to complete registration.
- After approval, reserve 1–7 days ahead online or at the kiosk. Scheduling access is listed as 24/7; that does not mean visits occur at all hours.
- Bring original government ID for every visit; photocopies are refused.
The provider portal also requires an in-person photo-ID approval before video visits. If travel for registration is difficult, call Visitation at 770-499-4359 before buying transport. No verified remote-only registration exception was found.

Resolve the two competing visitor limits before traveling
| Official instruction still posted | What it says |
|---|---|
| Notice referring to reopening January 19, 2021 | Every day except Wednesday, 9 AM–7 PM; 1 visit each week; maximum 2 visitors; remain in vehicle until 5 minutes before the visit; mask instruction. |
| General Visitation Center Rules | Up to 4 visitors; sessions start on the hour and last 30 minutes; arrival more than 15 minutes late forfeits the session. A shorter late visit is not extended. |
These statements conflict. This review did not find an effective-date notice explicitly replacing the older restriction. Do not present the larger party limit, mask rule or weekly schedule as settled current policy. Ask 770-499-4359 which rules apply to the booked person, session mode and date, then save the account confirmation and staff instructions.

Minors, clothing, belongings and exceptions
Visitors aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Adults aged 18 or older need valid government photo ID and are photographed during registration. The published rules do not specify a complete list of acceptable foreign IDs, parental/custody documents, infant headcount exceptions, diaper supplies or former-incarceration restrictions. Ask 770-499-4359 about the particular visitor before arrival; silence is not permission.
- Dress conservatively. No halter/tank tops, transparent clothing, exposed midriff or spaghetti straps.
- Shorts or skirts may be no more than 2 inches above the knee. Wear shoes.
- No food, drinks or cell phones in the visiting area; the facility is tobacco-free.
For disability accommodations, interpretation, an infant item, long-distance or emergency visit, describe the need and ask for the approving staff member. No published local exception deadline or guaranteed special visit was verified.

Prepare the device and document a failed video session
The Cobb portal describes Internet video as well as onsite approval. For iOS it directs users to Safari and the portal; Android instructions name the GTL scheduling and Internet Visits apps. Use the current portal instructions and update the apps. Allow camera/microphone access, use a stable connection and headphones, and check the booked mode, time and recipient before starting.
If the account is unapproved or the person cannot be scheduled, call Cobb Visitation at 770-499-4359. For platform help, ConnectNetwork lists Visitor Support 855-208-7349, weekdays 6 AM–4 PM MST and weekends 7 AM–4 PM MST. For a charged failure, retain the appointment, amount, receipt, error and time, then request a provider review. The Cobb portal's session-based refund/help links did not load during research; no automatic missed-session refund or cancellation deadline is claimed.

Counsel uses the professional visitor process
The sheriff publishes no frequency limit for professional visits, allows advance scheduling and requires professional credentials plus valid government photo ID. Recording audio or video of a professional visit is prohibited. Use the professional option in the Cobb portal and confirm approval with 770-499-4359.
A family account is not a confidential attorney channel. Counsel should confirm how the facility designates a confidential professional session, including any interpreter, investigator or clergy qualification. The public page does not provide a separate eligibility matrix for those categories. Do not send litigation strategy through ordinary family video, calls or messages.

Fund the receiving phone number—not the trust balance
Cobb identifies GTL/ViaPath for outgoing calls. People in custody cannot receive incoming calls; access may be limited by operations or discipline. AdvancePay is a prepaid account tied to the number receiving the calls. Confirm Cobb and the correct person, add that number, review the displayed price and fund the intended product. A trust deposit does not automatically fund your phone number.
For setup/payment call 800-483-8314; billing support is 877-650-4249. The sheriff prints the price as “.12 cents per minute”, an ambiguous unit that should not be silently converted into a verified rate. Use the price displayed in your account before paying. No local daily calling window, maximum call length or international rate was verified.

Connection problems, unwanted calls and remaining credit
Check that the correct receiving number has an active balance and that your carrier or device is not rejecting the call. Save the call time and error; ask 877-650-4249 about payment blocks or billing disputes. AdvancePay says refunds are available when the person is released or the account is no longer needed, but dropped mobile calls are not routinely refunded. A refund request is not a promised credit.
For unwanted calls, Cobb's Inmate Telephone Coordinator is 770-528-8975, Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM. After hours, ask for the supervisor at 770-499-4200. Following a transfer, check facility compatibility before depositing again; trust, telephone and visiting balances are separate products.

Mail, books and money
Address comparisons, deposits, packages and withdrawals.
Use different addresses for personal and legal mail
| Personal / other mail | Legal mail / books only |
|---|---|
| Cobb County Sheriff's Office, Georgia Inmate's full name and SOID# PO Box 247 Phoenix, MD 21131 | Cobb County Adult Detention Center Inmate's full name and SOID# PO Box 100110 Marietta, GA 30061 |
Use the booked name and SOID. Do not substitute the jail's street address or send privileged mail to the personal-mail processing box. The mail page's opening wording mentions money, but its detailed note sends funds to the separate account-deposit process. Confirm mailed-fund addressing with 770-499-4200 instead of putting payment into personal correspondence.

Photos, books, rejected mail and court clothing
The sheriff permits greeting cards and photos in correspondence, excludes Polaroids, and says offensive, sexually explicit or security-threatening material is returned to sender. Books, magazines and periodicals must come directly from a publisher or online distributor; hardback books are refused. Do not ship a family-packed box based on a retailer being acceptable.
The published rules do not establish a photo quantity/size limit, book quantity, original-letter retention period, privileged-mail inspection procedure or rejection appeal deadline. Ask the mail staff through 770-499-4200 before sending irreplaceable items. Civilian clothes may be left at the judicial complex when a judge orders court clothing; coordinate the order and exact counter with counsel rather than dropping clothes at the jail.

Trust deposits: confirm the vendor before paying
The sheriff's account page lists ConnectNetwork, telephone 888-988-4768, Site ID 153 and the person's inmate ID. It lists onsite cash deposits daily 9 AM–7 PM and a GTL kiosk accepting cash/cards. Mailed US Postal Money Orders are listed; mailing cash is discouraged.
Unresolved vendor conflict: the Cobb-specific JailCanteen FAQ instead sends trust-deposit users to JailATM and says JailCanteen is unaffiliated with that service. Neither reviewed page provides a migration date. Before sending funds, ask 770-499-4200 which trust vendor and inmate identifier are current. Use only a confirmed recipient/facility match; retain the receipt and do not repeat a pending payment. Current deposit fees, caps, posting delay and refund rules were not publicly reconciled.

Package orders and basic supplies are separate questions
The Cobb-specific JailCanteen store offers food, clothing, hygiene and postal items, subject to jail rules and the recipient's eligibility. Search the booked last name or ID and confirm the correct person before checkout. It lists Visa, Discover and MasterCard; prepaid cards need a registered billing address.
The weekly cutoff is Sunday 11:59 PM, labeled EST by the provider. Allow up to 15 business days for delivery; no delivery day is guaranteed. Email support@jailcanteen.com with the order number for help.
- Cancellation requests after Friday 4 PM are not guaranteed. Before processing/packing/shipping, the posted refund deducts the nonrefundable processing fee; after these steps, cancellation is unavailable.
- Report missing items within 45 days. Accepting equivalent-value replacements disqualifies that missing-item refund.
- For restricted recipients, the posted refund deducts processing fees; if already packed/shipped, a 20% restocking fee also applies. Packed, shipped and returned orders carry that same charge plus processing fees.
- Refund processing may take up to 6 weeks. Request review; eligibility and reimbursement are not guaranteed.
No public local indigent-kit threshold or request procedure was found. Ask the jail at 770-499-4200 how the person requests hygiene or writing supplies when unable to pay; a family package is not a verified prerequisite to basic supplies.

Approved withdrawals are different from release funds
The sheriff allows an account withdrawal with the person's consent once each month. An authorized recipient collects it on Wednesday, 9 AM–7 PM, at the Visitors Center, 1877 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008. Call 770-499-4200 to verify authorization, required ID and whether it is ready before traveling.
That weekday collection process does not establish how money is returned at final release. The reviewed pages do not specify a release debit card/check method, collection deadline or transfer of the trust balance to another jail. Request the account statement and exact balance-return instructions; unused phone credit must be handled separately through its provider.

Care, safety and complaints
Medical communication, personal items, PREA and grievances.
Give medical information to the Medical Unit
The sheriff's directory lists the Medical Unit at 678-355-7079. Prepare the person's full booked name, SOID, date of birth, urgent concern, diagnosis, allergies, medication names/doses, last dose, pharmacy and treating-clinician contact. Ask how to send this information securely and record the recipient and time. For an immediate in-custody danger, also call 770-499-4200 and request the on-duty supervisor and urgent medical response; do not rely on a routine message.
The reviewed sources do not identify a public clinical fax/email, family mental-health referral form, callback guarantee or consent/records workflow. Giving useful information does not guarantee staff can disclose protected information back to you. Ask the unit for the patient's authorization process and the appropriate records custodian instead of using a public records request as a medical-release substitute.
Sources: Sheriff contact directory · Sheriff Detention Division
Get approval before delivering medication or equipment
No current public Cobb procedure was found for family delivery of medication, glasses, hearing aids, dentures or other medical equipment. Call the Medical Unit at 678-355-7079 with the precise item, prescription and treating-provider details; ask whether it can be accepted, who approves it, what packaging is required and where/when to deliver it. Do not mail medication to either correspondence box or leave it with a visitor without explicit approval.
For discharge, ask the care team about the actual medication supply/prescriptions, follow-up appointment, urgent symptoms and handoff to community care. A routine supply duration, copay, MAT eligibility rule and general mental-health referral deadline were not verified. Communicate withdrawal or self-harm concerns promptly through the care unit and jail supervisor rather than waiting for a scheduled family visit.

Report sexual abuse and reach independent support
For immediate danger in custody, call 770-499-4200 and ask for the supervisor and PREA response. The sheriff's 2025 report allows reports to any employee, through the internal hotline or through another person, and describes confidential reporting 24/7. The reviewed report does not print the internal dialing code; the person should use posted instructions or ask staff without routing the complaint through the accused employee.
LiveSafe Resources: 770-427-3390, 24-hour crisis line; Spanish assistance 770-423-3569. The sheriff identifies LiveSafe as an independent partner for advocacy, counseling and forensic-exam support. State clearly that the concern involves Cobb adult detention and ask about reporting and support. A community crisis call is not a substitute for alerting jail staff to immediate danger.

Separate an urgent safety report from an ordinary complaint
For a complaint about staff conduct, Internal Affairs accepts personal, telephone or mailed reports, including anonymous reports. Call 770-499-4741 on weekdays 8 AM–5 PM, or write to Internal Affairs, Public Safety Building, Second Floor, 185 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA 30060. The same page also lists 770-499-4740 as a general contact. Keep dates, names, facts and a copy; the page promises an outcome letter within 30 days after disposition, not resolution within that time after filing.
Ordinary detainee grievance forms, filing/appeal deadlines and steps were not found publicly. Ask 770-499-4200 for the current handbook process. Sexual-abuse complaints have a separate pathway. The sheriff's 2023 PREA audit describes no filing time limit, an emergency initial response within 48 hours and final decision within 5 calendar days. Its 2025 PREA annual report states administrative investigations must finish within 90 days of the initial complaint or grievance, or within 5 days after an emergency grievance is filed. These are complaint-process rules, not a reason to delay urgent protection.

Court, release and returning home
Counsel, bond choices, property and practical reentry.
Find the court and request appointed counsel locally
Retain the case number and court name. Superior Court handles felony cases; State Court handles misdemeanors and traffic cases; municipal cases may follow a separate city process. For county record/date questions, Superior Court Clerk is 770-528-1300 and State Court Clerk 770-528-2660. Magistrate Court is at 32 Waddell Street, Marietta, GA 30090, 770-528-8900; the Superior Court is at 70 Haynes Street, Marietta, GA 30090. Confirm the courtroom, mode and time; those buildings are not the jail.
- Open the county's Circuit Defender application service.
- Complete both the application/financial statement and Notice to Applicant affidavit. English and Spanish versions are offered.
- The office says to expect a call/email within 2 business days to begin the process. For custody access problems or follow-up, call 770-528-1950.
Eligibility requires review; the office says it never requests or accepts payment from applicants/defendants. Do not treat a prosecutor or bond company as defense counsel.

Compare bond methods before handing over money
Ask Bonding at 770-499-4200 or its directory number 770-499-4255 for every bond, surcharge and hold. The bond page directs visitors to 1877 County Services Parkway.
| Method | Published local requirement |
|---|---|
| Cash | Full amount; facility does not accept checks/cards. The named surety collects a court refund after appearance obligations are satisfied. |
| Online cash | Up to $2,500 including fees/surcharges. The defendant is named surety and the refund goes only to the defendant. |
| Cobb property | Residential property in Cobb; all named owners on deed/current tax bill appear with deed, current tax bill, mortgage statement and government photo ID. |
| Other Georgia county property | That county's sheriff prepares the bond; bring its sealed envelope. |
| Professional company | Must be authorized by Cobb Sheriff; nonrefundable premium is separate from the bond. |
The sheriff lists a nonrefundable $20 fee per bond instrument and additional surcharges. Obtain the current total and receipts. Paying one bond does not clear another case or hold and does not guarantee a pickup time.
Sources: Sheriff bonding requirements · Sheriff contact directory
Limited license collateral and professional premiums
The sheriff lists a narrow Georgia driver's-license collateral option: a valid Georgia license, a misdemeanor other than DUI, at least 5 days in custody and a bond of $1,000 or less before surcharges. Missing a required court appearance may lead to suspension of the driver's license. Do not assume this option applies to a felony, DUI, another hold or a case without the required time. Ask Bonding at 770-499-4200 to confirm the current court order and eligibility.
The sheriff's page says an authorized professional bonding company may charge up to 15% of the bond and applicable surcharges, or a minimum $50 per charge/offense even when that exceeds the percentage. The premium is generally nonrefundable and separate from collateral and the court's bond. Obtain the written premium, collateral terms and receipts; verify the company's current authorization with the sheriff before paying. This describes the agency's posted process, not a determination of any person's legal eligibility.

The 10% bond requires a court decision
Call Pretrial Court Services at 770-528-8950 before coming to apply; the court says not to ask jail personnel to process the surety application. Same-day applications require attendance Monday–Friday 8 AM–3 PM, excluding holidays. Surety approval alone does not authorize the bond; a judge must approve it.
The posted requirements include age 18 or older, Georgia residence for 1 year, valid Georgia ID, proof of citizenship/legal residence, employment proof for 1 year, 2 references, no felony conviction, no current bond/probation/parole or other surety obligation, no IRS debt, and not being the victim or attorney. A Social Security card alone is not accepted as citizenship/residence proof.
The approved deposit is 10% including state fees; the court describes returning 90% of that deposit when the case ends. The earliest jail processing for this bond is 6 PM, not a promised release time. Keep the cash receipt. Other recommendations include conditional release, recognizance or bond reduction, with individual judicial review and conditions.

Arrange property and pickup after release is confirmed
The public sheriff pages do not give a complete property-release authorization form, recipient-ID list, counter hours, storage deadline or final-release exit. Before traveling, call 770-499-4200 with the SOID and ask whether the person must sign first, which belongings may be collected, who may collect them and the exact counter/date. Property held as evidence is a different question; ask which agency has custody of it.
For pickup, confirm all bonds/holds and actual clearance, ask where to wait, and arrange transport, clothing, a charged phone and a place to stay. Obtain court and supervision instructions and the person's medical discharge plan. No guaranteed release processing duration, overnight waiting area, free ride or storage period was verified. A paid bond or search-record change alone is not confirmation that the person is ready outside.

Ask for education and work preparation while in custody
The sheriff's Realign Restart initiative works with CobbWorks, Construction Ready and Chattahoochee Technical College on education and employment preparation. The published offerings include GED instruction/testing, construction training and a class on meeting probation obligations. A listing does not guarantee a place or eligibility for a particular housing assignment.
The person should ask the housing counselor how to enroll and how a transfer or release affects completion. Families can ask Jail Administration at 770-499-4221 for the correct program contact and help collect prior education/employment records when requested. Do not pay a third party promising placement or release for joining a class.

Work release is an approved sentence program
The Sheriff's Detention Division describes Work Deployment as housing for nonviolent sentenced people on supervised county crews or work release. Work-release applicants must pass a background investigation and be employed or enrolled in school/training. Call the Work Deployment Center at 770-499-4340 about an actual court referral, approval, reporting destination and current rules.
This is not a way for a family to book a transfer out of the adult jail. The public page does not establish a current visitor/mail/account policy shared with the main complex, program fees, travel permission or intake packing list. Confirm the current facility and program-specific rules before visiting, mailing or paying.

Prepare a community contact before the first day home
WorkSource Cobb / CobbWorks: 463 Commerce Park Drive, Suite 100, Marietta, GA 30060; 770-528-4300. Ask about employment, training and the jail's reentry partnership, documents needed and an appointment. The operator contact page shows both 8 AM–5 PM and 10 AM–5 PM weekday hours in different blocks; confirm the applicable center hours before going.
The county's assistance directory can identify housing, food, health and other local services using a ZIP code. Ask each service about eligibility, intake hours, documents and vacancies; a listing is not an available bed. For eligible record restriction/sealing after a case, the Circuit Defender page provides the Cobb Second Chance Desk; call 770-528-1950 for the appropriate path. That service does not erase all records automatically or substitute for pending-case defense.

Plan a necessary trip
Visitors Center, real parking, transit evidence and local contacts.
Go to the Visitors Center for the visit
Use 1877 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008 for the Visitors Center, not the jail's 1825 street number or a downtown court. The sheriff confirms parking adjacent to the Visitors Center. No public fee, overnight permission, vehicle-height limit or detailed accessible path was verified; follow posted signs and ask 770-499-4359 about mobility needs and the correct entrance.
Bring the booking/visit confirmation and ID. Before the trip, resolve the conflicting early-arrival and visitor-limit notices described in the visiting chapter. A nearby lot, bus stop or department address does not establish permission to walk across a secured driveway or park overnight. The registered visit and the return trip should be arranged before you leave home.

Route 15: verified stop pair and seven-day schedule
CobbLinc Route 15 links Marietta Transfer Center and Cumberland Transfer Center via County Services Parkway. The operator’s current service data verify 920600 — County Services Pkwy at Cobb Co Dot for outbound trips toward Cumberland Transfer Center, and 920654 — County Services Pkwy at Cobb Co Trash Tr for inbound trips toward Marietta Transfer Center. These are corridor stops; neither is certified here as the nearest safe jail entrance or as an accessible walking route.
We checked each date from September 28 through October 4, 2026 against the operator’s current service calendar and dated exceptions. The tables below list every scheduled trip at these two stops for those dates. The operator marks these stop times as approximate, rather than fixed timing points. They are not live arrival predictions. Times use the local Eastern time zone and a 24-hour clock; seconds are omitted. For example, hour 17 with minute 25 means about 5:25 PM. Arrive before the approximate time and check current service. A dash means the downloaded timetable has no trip in that hour, not that a live bus has been canceled.

Check your return before the visit: for the dates above, the final listed trip at 920654 toward Marietta is approximately 22:30 on weekdays, 20:30 on Saturday and 19:30 on Sunday. At 920600 toward Cumberland, it is approximately 21:21 on weekdays, 19:21 on Saturday and 18:21 on Sunday. Allow separate time for jail check-out, release processing and the final walk; the bus timetable does not promise when someone will leave the jail.
Construction notices still need clarification. The Route 15 page retains a February 6, 2023 notice for stops 920112, 920097, 920113 and 920114, with reactivation undetermined. The current feed schedules trips at three of those stops and omits 920097. That does not establish which temporary closures have ended. The service-announcement page also retains a Circle 75 Route 15 detour update without a usable date range. These notices do not name 920600 or 920654, but can affect travel elsewhere along the route. Check current alerts before relying on a connection.
For current estimates use the 920600 departure page or 920654 departure page. The county also gives a text option: send CLT followed by the stop number to 321123. Customer Service is 770-427-4444, weekdays 7 AM–7 PM, weekends 8 AM–4:30 PM. Ask about the correct boarding stop, current construction, the last return bus and mobility needs.
The safe final walk and accessible entrance remain unverified. The feed does not establish wheelchair boarding at these stops or a continuous accessible sidewalk/crossing to the Visitors Center. Confirm the destination and entrance with jail visitation at 770-499-4359 before traveling. The feed version checked is September 24, 2026, with a published date range through December 31, 2026; only the seven dates shown here were validated. No door-to-door service is promised.

A transfer lot is not jail parking
The county lists Marietta Transfer Center Park-and-Ride, 800 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060, serving Route 15 and other routes. Use it only within the posted parking conditions; no overnight or jail-visitor parking entitlement is inferred.
CobbLinc customer service is 770-427-4444, weekdays 7 AM–7 PM, weekends 8 AM–4:30 PM. Ask about the exact date, transfers, fares, return trip and mobility needs before committing to a visit. The operator lists no service on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Paratransit is an eligibility-based service; this review does not promise eligibility, a same-day booking or a ride to the jail.
Old Breeze card balance: CobbLinc’s current service alert says balances on older Breeze cards can be moved to a new Breeze card through October 30, 2026. Call 770-427-4444 for the transfer process before that deadline. The alert does not explain where or how to complete the transfer, so do not assume it happens automatically.

Finding someone held here
Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Get two things first: which facility the person is actually in, and their booking or ID number. Almost nothing works without them. Then check this facility’s current instructions — rules and service providers change.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.
Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.
Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?
No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.
Does posting bond mean the person comes home?
Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.
What should I confirm before visiting?
The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.
What if I find something that needs correcting?
Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
