- Confirm custody
Use Inmate Inquiry and Booking.
- Prepare communication
Obtain JailATM approval and choose the correct ICS product.
- Use the right channel
Personal mail to Arkansas; legal mail and money orders to Castle Rock.
- Plan release
Check every hold, paperwork, care and transport.
Find the right person and place
Custody, intake and adult/youth boundaries.
Confirm the person and save both identifiers
Use the Sheriff's Inmate Inquiry for current custody and bond information. Match the name and other identifying details before making a payment. Save the booking number and the separate Global ID: the mail channel below requires the correct one.
- Try name variants and fewer search fields if a search gives no match.
- For a recent arrest, ask the arresting agency whether transfer and booking have occurred.
- Call Booking at 303-660-7550 if the record is unavailable, ambiguous or missing.
The live search returned an access error to our research tool on September 28, 2026; that is a tool-access limitation, not evidence that the service or a person's record is unavailable to you. No result does not prove release. Confirm the current custodian before funding any account.

One adult county jail in the Justice Center
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Jail, also called the Detention Division, is the adult county jail in the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center, 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109. Detentions: 303-660-7559. The court shares the Justice Center address but uses Suite 2009; legal mail and money orders use the jail's Suite 2630.
The Highlands Ranch substation at 9250 Zotos Drive is a different public office. Do not use its office hours as jail visiting hours. This guide applies only to the adult Castle Rock jail, not Douglas County facilities in other states, youth placement, Colorado DOC, federal custody or a court office.

Booking takes time; youth follow a different pathway
The Sheriff describes an intake interview, photographs, fingerprints and a DNA cheek swab. Processing can take several hours. Limited free calls are available during booking; staff do not relay routine personal messages once the person is inside. A housing move can affect access to calls, tablets and visits.
The Sheriff says juveniles are not booked into this county jail. Its youth guidance identifies the Juvenile Assessment Center at 9700 E Easter Lane, Centennial, 720-213-1320, and separate secure youth placement at Marvin W. Foote. Ask the arresting agency to confirm the actual youth destination; adult rules here do not transfer to those centers.

Visit and communicate
Video choices, ID, account support and confidential counsel.
Choose free onsite video or paid remote video
Family and friends use JailATM video; ordinary in-person contact visits are not offered. Prescheduled video in the Detention Lobby's Video Visitation Center is free. Unscheduled walk-ins are unavailable. Remote video is listed at $0.12 per minute, excluding taxes, with sessions up to 20 minutes.
- Create your own account and select the correct Colorado facility and person.
- Initiate the communication request; upload your ID and a recent personal photograph in their separate fields.
- Wait for facility review and use the actual account's available appointment choices.
- Save the confirmation, mode and arrival instructions before traveling.
The reviewed current page does not publish a universal weekly schedule, booking lead time, arrival cutoff or visit frequency. Inmate availability varies; staff say the person must communicate when they are available. Confirm missing onsite details at 303-660-7559.
ID, minors and the number of visitors
Adult visitors may use a state driver license or ID, military ID, passport, or another government/consular ID. Onsite video permits the registered user plus 1 additional person. The rules require users to be at least 18 or accompanied by a preapproved parent/guardian. A minor spouse needs proof of marriage and photo ID. Children must be supervised throughout.
Wording conflict: the same page limits remote video to the registered user and inmate, while permitting accompanied minors. It does not explain how to register a child's remote participation. Obtain approval at 303-660-7559 before including a child; do not share an account or assume extra people may appear. The published rules also prohibit communication by someone released from the jail within the past 30 days. No published infant-supply allowance, guardian-document list or long-distance exception was found.
Dress and belongings before a video visit
Wear conventional clothing that covers underwear and is not revealing, sheer or sexually suggestive. Shoes are required onsite. Clothing with gang, obscene, drug/alcohol or profane designs is prohibited. Leave external electronics out of sight and hearing during video. No account sharing, three-way communication, intoxication, sexual conduct or disruptive behavior.
Onsite visitors can be searched. Hats, sunglasses, gloves, scarves and outerwear including hoodies/jackets are prohibited in the video center; religious headwear is an exception. Plan storage before arrival because a public locker service was not verified. Ask Detentions at 303-660-7559 about disability equipment, religious needs, infant items and any required exception before traveling. Approval of a video account does not establish approval of belongings.
A failed session needs a vendor case, not another blind payment
Before a session, allow the camera and microphone, check the internet connection and use the approved account. JailATM's face filtering intentionally crops each participant's image to the face. A missing tablet connection can also reflect housing, court or operational availability.
For technical or billing problems call 877-810-0914 or use the video assistance form. Keep the resident name/ID, facility and state, call date/time, account email and error details. Do not submit a full payment-card number. If an ID was uploaded into both the ID and photo fields, the Sheriff directs users to have JailATM delete both before reuploading.
JailATM terms state no refunds for email, video or gift-pack purchases. Report a failed session for review, but do not assume automatic credit, rescheduling or a refund. JailATM account money is separate from trust and ICS phone funding.

Fund the right phone account
| Choice | What the money does |
|---|---|
| ICSolutions prepaid | Funds calls to the designated phone number |
| Jail trust through Access Corrections | Can be used by the person for calls or other allowed purchases |
The Sheriff currently lists domestic calls at $0.07 per minute before taxes; international charges depend on destination plus $0.07 per minute. It describes 2 free domestic calls of 15 minutes each week. A connected call uses that allowance even when short; unused calls do not carry over and free calls are not restored.
Create the family prepaid account at ICSolutions or call 888-506-8407. Confirm the destination number and applicable deposit charges before paying. Paid phone access does not guarantee that the person is available to call.
Sources: Sheriff communication, visiting and mail rules · ICSolutions account, disconnect and refund help
Blocked calls, disconnections and refunds
Check the funded number, remaining balance, blocked contacts and carrier spam filtering. ICS recommends avoiding call waiting/forwarding, keypad presses after connection and three-way calls. Ask 888-506-8407 to investigate inaudible or dropped paid calls; keep the date, time and called number. Its support operates 24 hours.
ICSolutions permits requests for the unexpired balance when closing a family prepaid account. Its general policy says expiration is 6 months after the last purchase unless law requires otherwise. Money purchased for an inmate debit account belongs to the inmate; any refund is handled under the facility's rules, not returned automatically to the purchaser.
Douglas prohibits third-party communication and says numbers blocked for that reason cannot be unblocked. Reconsideration of a voluntary block or a criminal-offense-related block goes to jailcall@dcsheriff.net; the county lists 3–7 business days. A request does not override a court restriction.

Keep legal and professional communication privileged
Ordinary calls, video and digital messages are monitored and recorded; the Sheriff describes them as public records. Do not use a family account as a substitute for confidential defense communication.
Active attorneys register privileged phone/video access through jailcall@dcsheriff.net with credentials and a Letter of Introduction; video also requires ID. Allow the published 1–3 business days. Professional in-person access requires screening and approval before entry. The county lists ordinary defense-team hours of 7:30 AM–10 PM, with after-hours arrangements at the watch commander's discretion. Attorneys bring government photo ID and active bar credentials; supervised defense staff provide the supervising attorney's letter and applicable credentials. Clergy visits require an inmate request and case-by-case approval.
Mail and money
Two mail addresses and distinct payment products.
Personal mail goes to Arkansas for scanning
Address personal letters as follows:
Douglas County Sheriff's Office
Inmate name
Inmate Global ID Number
P.O. Box 16120
Jonesboro, AR 72401
Use the 6- or 7-digit Global ID, not the booking number. The vendor scans letters, pictures and drawings for kiosk/tablet viewing. Incorrect addressing causes return to sender. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope with the original if you want it returned. Do not send irreplaceable originals without understanding that process.
Personal mail and digital messages are screened. Prohibited content includes obscene/sexual material, social-media material, sensitive security information and information involving other inmates; inmate-to-inmate communication is prohibited. The public page says unacceptable mail is returned but does not establish a complete rejection appeal or original-storage deadline.
Legal mail and money orders use Castle Rock
The Sheriff separately accepts legal mail and money orders at:
Inmate Name and Booking Number
Douglas County Jail
4000 Justice Way, Suite 2630
Castle Rock, CO 80109-7547
This channel uses the booking number, while scanned personal mail uses the Global ID. Clearly identify genuine legal mail. The public page distinguishes it from routine inspection but does not explain every sender-qualification, opening-in-presence or privileged-mail appeal rule. Counsel should confirm handling with Detentions at 303-660-7559 before sending time-sensitive privileged documents. Do not route legal papers through family digital messaging or the personal-mail scanning box.
Books, photos and packages: confirm the item before buying
The confirmed photo channel is scanned personal mail; JailATM also offers screened digital attachments at the county-listed $0.25 per message and per attachment, before taxes. That does not establish a physical-photo allowance in the cell.
The Sheriff lists a jail library but the reviewed communication, money, program and policy pages did not establish current outside-book vendor approval, paperback limits, magazines, newspaper subscriptions or a family package program. Call 303-660-7559 with the exact title/item and seller; ask about approval, quantity, delivery address, prohibited content and return handling before ordering. A generic gift-pack feature on a vendor site is not proof that Douglas enables it. Do not send books or merchandise to the Arkansas letter scanner.

Trust deposits are separate from bond and communications
The Sheriff's current navigation directs trust deposits to Access Corrections or 866-345-1884. A cash/credit-card kiosk is identified in the jail lobby at 4000 Justice Way. Money orders use the Castle Rock address above. Personal and company checks are not accepted into inmate accounts; do not mail cash.
The money page still links Access Catalog, while the current communication page and navigation name Access Corrections. Follow the Sheriff's current Access Corrections transaction link and confirm Douglas County, Colorado and the correct recipient before payment. Do not treat trust credit as posting bond. Save your receipt and transaction number; if a deposit does not appear, ask the provider to trace it before paying again. Deposits may be reduced by authorized charges; account transfers between inmates are not allowed.

Know the published charges and basic-needs limit
The county fee page lists $30 booking, $10 per bond, $5 for an inmate-requested medical/dental/mental-health visit, $10 haircuts and $5 notary service. Booking charges are deducted as funds become available. These are not all release prerequisites: see money-bond rights below.
The county says basic hygiene is provided. Its money page describes eligible Pod Worker assignments paying $2 per day during the assignment week; this is not a guaranteed job or a published indigent-kit application. A current indigent threshold, postage allowance, commissary spending cap and detailed medical-copay exemptions were not found. Ask housing staff through the person's request system or call 303-660-7559 for the current policy. The transaction screen should disclose the actual deposit fee; the fee page contains incomplete card-range wording, so do not calculate an unlisted tier.

Care, records and safety
Medical history, consent, requests and reporting.
Medical concerns and urgent escalation
The county describes medical screening during booking, a physical within 14 days, medical staff on duty 24/7 and daily mental-health staffing. These describe the service, not a guarantee that a family member's particular request has been received.
For an immediate safety concern about someone inside, call Booking 303-660-7550 or Detentions 303-660-7559, identify the person and state that you need urgent staff attention. Give specific observed symptoms, medication/withdrawal concerns, relevant dates and your callback. Do not rely on an ordinary recorded call, a routine records request or an unmonitored email for an emergency. In-custody patients can submit free digital medical requests; immediate danger should be reported directly to staff.
A dedicated public family-to-clinician telephone/fax and response timetable were not found. Ask Detentions to identify the correct receiving clinical team instead of assuming the general information desk is the medical unit.

Medication history, disability needs and continuity
When the person cannot speak for themselves, the reintegration team explicitly accepts family information at DCSOReintegration@dcsheriff.net, including diagnoses and medications that have helped previously. Provide the name and identifying number, prescriber/pharmacy contact and a concise factual history. This is a supported reintegration channel, not a verified emergency clinical inbox.
Ask the person to request Re-entry through the kite system. The county describes behavioral-health and substance-use treatment and medication-assisted opioid treatment, but individual medication choice and admission remain clinical decisions. Published instructions for family delivery of prescriptions, eyeglasses, hearing aids, other medical equipment and the standard medication supply on release were not found. Obtain item-specific approval at 303-660-7559 before bringing or mailing anything.

Request health records with the patient's authorization
The Sheriff provides an inmate-records request route for booking/charging/housing records. Health records require its bilingual WellPath release form with the request. The form identifies the disclosing party, recipient, purpose, dates and specific types of records, including mental health and substance-use records. Obtain the patient's or legally authorized signature; being family does not itself establish access.
The county says receipt will be acknowledged within 72 business hours; this is not the promised delivery time. The online portal adds processing fees; a downloadable form can be submitted by mail or at the counter. Contact Records at 303-660-7524 or cjra@dcsheriff.net for the current fee and secure submission instructions. Protected information can be redacted. Giving helpful medical history and receiving protected records are different processes.
Sources: Sheriff jail and medical records requests · County-hosted bilingual medical release form
Requests, inmate grievances and staff complaints
Inmates have a free digital kite system for requests about care, housing, property, booking and food. Paper kites are available for the court clerk, probation, public defender and pretrial services. A request is not necessarily a formal grievance. The public policy index did not establish the current inmate grievance filing/appeal deadlines; ask housing staff for the applicable grievance form and retain submissions and replies. The index's employee grievance policy must not be substituted for inmate procedure.
Families can report staff conduct to Internal Affairs at 303-663-7209, dcsoiau@dcsheriff.net, the official complaint form, or ATTN: Internal Affairs, 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109. Describe dates, people, witnesses and desired correction. Anonymous complaints are accepted, though they prevent a personal outcome notice. The county aims for 30 days but says complex investigations may take longer.
Sources: Sheriff communication, visiting and mail rules · Sheriff Internal Affairs complaint process · Sheriff published policy index
Report sexual abuse or harassment directly
The Sheriff's PREA page identifies Commander Kirk Ring and SODetentionsSupervisors@dcsheriff.net for reports by a victim or someone who knows about sexual abuse/harassment. It also lists 303-660-7500 to ask to make a police report. Give the affected person's name, location if known, dates, immediate safety concern and a safe callback method. Do not wait for a routine grievance when someone is in immediate danger; request immediate staff intervention.
A separate confidential outside advocate or anonymous external PREA hotline was not identified in the reviewed public page. The Internal Affairs route above accepts anonymous complaints but is still a Sheriff channel, not independent advocacy. Ask Detentions at 303-660-7559 for the current outside advocacy contact if needed.

Court and returning home
Bond rights, property, work release and reentry.
Court destination, hearings and current closure
Douglas County is in Colorado's 23rd Judicial District. The courthouse is 4000 Justice Way, Suite 2009, Castle Rock, CO 80109; 720-437-6200. Published hours are Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, excluding state holidays. The current court page posts a clerk closure on September 30, 2026, 11:30 AM–2:30 PM. It advertises Saturday bond hearings at 2 PM; that is not a guarantee of an individual hearing.
Use the court's docket and virtual-courtroom links and the person's actual notice to confirm case number, judge, location and appearance mode. A video-observation link does not replace required attendance. For an interpreter call 720-437-6114 or email 23interpreter@judicial.state.co.us. Request accommodations through the court's own process, separate from a jail visit.

Find defense counsel without confusing the offices
The Colorado State Public Defender's Douglas office is at Elk Crossing Business Center, 1161 S Perry Street, Suite 200, Castle Rock, CO 80104; 303-688-3081; Douglas@coloradodefenders.us. It serves Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. Ask about an existing appointment or how to submit an application; listing this office does not mean everyone qualifies or already has counsel.
Provide the booked name, case number, custody location and next hearing. The courthouse self-help center can explain procedure but does not substitute for criminal defense. Inmates can request the public defender through paper kites, and attorneys should establish the jail's privileged communication process before discussing the case.

Check every case and choose the permitted bond method
Call Booking at 303-660-7550 to confirm each bond, any no-bond hold and the allowed payment method. The Sheriff accepts bond around the clock by cash, money order or permitted credit/debit transactions; online/phone payment is through Access Corrections, 866-345-1884. Select the bond transaction, not a commissary deposit.
| Type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Personal recognizance | Signature-based release; obey all court conditions |
| Cash / cash-surety | Full required money bond |
| Surety | Licensed bond agent, if permitted by the order |
| Property bond | Handled at the court clerk, not the jail payment kiosk |
| No-bond hold | Payment alone cannot clear it |
Save a receipt and bond paperwork with the next court date. Another case or agency hold can prevent release after one bond is paid.
Sources: Sheriff bond process
Fees must not become a condition of money-bond release
The Sheriff's rights notice, revised July 2, 2025, says booking/bond fees and other debts do not have to be paid to obtain release on money bond, including online payment. The notice allows a $10 bond fee and up to 3.5% card charge as debt if unpaid; it prohibits other bond-related payment/kiosk fees. This conflicts with bond service fees still displayed in the general fee table. Use the rights notice and ask Booking to resolve any checkout charge that disagrees.
For personal recognizance, the notice starts a 6-hour release period once bond is set and the defendant has returned to jail. For a cash bond, bond must be set, the defendant returned, and the jail notified that payment is ready. Online, the period starts when payment is submitted or a power of attorney is electronically filed. Supervisory release conditions alone do not justify a delay. Extraordinary circumstances can delay release; necessary fitting of required electronic monitoring can allow up to 24 hours. Ask for the specific reason for a delay; this is not an unconditional pickup promise.
Make bond payments payable to the holding county, never the incarcerated person. The payer is entitled to bond paperwork and the next court date. A surety or third-party payer cannot be asked to apply posted bond money to the defendant’s debts; a defendant using their own funds may choose to do so voluntarily. Complaints about these rights: 303-663-7209 or dcsoiau@dcsheriff.net.

Arrange property pickup before making a trip
The Sheriff says property that is not evidence can be collected from the Detention Division; the contact is 303-660-7559. The public property page does not specify pickup hours, the inmate's authorization procedure, recipient ID requirements, partial release or storage deadlines.
- Ask whether the item is jail-held personal property or evidence held by an investigating agency.
- Confirm whether the person must sign a release and whom they may authorize.
- Get the current pickup desk, hours, required ID and deadline before traveling.
Do not assume a family relationship lets you collect belongings, or that a bond payment automatically releases them. Keep any property receipt for follow-up.
Sources: Sheriff return of inmate property
Make a realistic release and pickup plan
Confirm release with Booking at 303-660-7550; a paid bond or anticipated sentence end is not the same as completed release processing. Ask whether other holds remain and which public pickup location staff will use. No fixed release exit, routine release hour or family waiting area was verified.
The money page says remaining inmate funds are returned on a prepaid MasterCard. Ask about card instructions and fees rather than assuming cash. Before departure, check belongings, court paperwork, medications or follow-up care, transport and a working phone/contact. Re-entry can help plan transport for vulnerable people, but a universal ride or shelter placement is not promised. The current local transit service has limited operating hours; overnight release needs another plan.

Education, recovery and approved work opportunities
Published examples include GED preparation, AA, NA, Celebrate Recovery, anger management, life skills, Thinking for a Change, religious services and a legal research resource. Read-A-Book lets participating parents record themselves reading for their children. The jail also describes a library and recreation.
These are program examples, not a current class timetable or guaranteed place. The person should request the specific activity through housing staff and ask about classification, scheduling and eligibility. Worker programs may offer money or sentence credit only when requirements are met; families should not calculate a release date from a general program description.
Sources: Sheriff activities and programs
Work release requires its own approval
Work release requires both the court's permission and the Detention Division's acceptance. Published criteria include no outstanding warrants, acceptable history and behavior, approved verifiable employment and a sentence of at least 15 days. Contact 303-814-7073 or workrelease@dcsheriff.net at least 1 week before reporting; Detentions fallback: 303-660-7559. Court approval alone does not guarantee a place.
Two published cost descriptions need reconciliation. The current program webpage lists $25–$88 per day based on gross annual income, plus $75 GPS activation. Its linked packet is marked revised August 9, 2022 and instead describes a wage-based calculation and separate out-of-county/out-of-state charges. Ask the coordinator for your written current assessment, initial funding and reporting date before paying. These program charges are separate from ordinary money-bond release rights.
Prepare the documents and work arrangements
The linked packet asks for photo ID, sentencing mittimus, employer and supervisor contacts, work schedule and the last 2 pay stubs. Drivers need a valid license, registration and insurance, plus an interlock agreement if applicable; when another person drives, bring that driver's license and the vehicle's registration/insurance. Ask which initial fees and permitted belongings apply. Extra clothing needs approval; large suitcases, bags and purses are not accepted under the packet.
The dated packet describes intake/classification of 24–72 hours and advises planning not to work for at least 3 days unless arrangements are approved; program processing is Monday–Friday during business hours. Out-of-county or out-of-state sentences require advance approval. These are published planning instructions, not a guaranteed admission timetable.
It also requires approved daily transportation and prohibits taxi/Uber use by participants. The current public Link On Demand service described below does not itself prove that it is an approved work-release ride. Confirm transportation, parking and any medical accommodations directly. The packet's older healthcare and medication restrictions should be reviewed with current clinical/program staff before reporting; do not change prescribed care based on the packet.
The packet calls for weekly schedules by Thursday noon, prior employer authorization for overtime and advance approval for appointments or other passes. Keep the program emergency contacts with your employer and family. Verify the current schedule limits and holiday exceptions with the coordinator rather than assuming a work obligation permits leaving.

Ask for Re-entry while the person is still inside
The county's reintegration team includes Re-entry, jail-based behavioral services, workforce support and Human Services. Ask the person to send a kite to Re-entry. When they cannot speak for themselves, family may email DCSOReintegration@dcsheriff.net; staff can receive helpful history even when privacy rules limit what they can share back.
Discuss transport, identification, benefits, housing, appointments and required supervision early. Douglas County Human Services has moved its Castle Rock offices to 11045 E Lansing Circle, Englewood (Meridian); 303-688-4825. Call before traveling to the former office. Ask for current food, medical and other benefit application requirements. Referral or application does not guarantee eligibility or immediate assistance.

Prepare a necessary trip
Arrival questions, current shared transit and local contacts.
Travel to the Detention Lobby, not a substation
For a confirmed onsite video visit, the Sheriff identifies the Detention Lobby's Video Visitation Center at 4000 Justice Way. Court business uses the courthouse within the same complex. Ask 303-660-7559 to confirm the correct visitor entrance and the current check-in instructions.
The linked work-release packet, marked revised August 9, 2022, identifies signed work-release parking in the lower southwest Justice Center lot for approved participants with driving documents. That is program parking, not blanket visitor permission. A historical Sheriff notice also identifies reserved internet-exchange spaces; do not treat reserved spaces as general jail parking.
Reviewed Sheriff location, visiting, property and court pages did not establish the current visitor-parking allocation, fee, overnight permission or accessible curb-to-door route. Do not infer those details from an aerial map or from courthouse hours. Before departure ask where visitors may park, where a mobility-accessible drop-off is permitted and whether your vehicle can remain during the appointment. Follow posted restrictions at the site. The hotel listed below is not offered as jail parking.

Castle Rock now has Link On Demand
Current-source correction: the Sheriff's reintegration page still says Castle Rock has no public transportation. The town and operator now document Link On Demand, a free shared public ride service. The town also says it replaces the Taxi Voucher Program. Do not plan from that older blanket statement.
| Day | Published service window |
|---|---|
| Monday–Thursday | 7 AM–7 PM |
| Friday | 7 AM–10 PM |
| Saturday | 10 AM–10 PM |
| Sunday | No service |
Create a Link On Demand account or call 719-212-2430. Enter pickup and the jail destination, 4000 Justice Way, and obtain an accepted ride before relying on it. Virtual pickup points are assigned in the app; an exact jail stop, entrance or safe final walk was not verified. The service is demand-responsive, not a fixed timetable or live-arrival feed on Jail411. Check holiday and weather notices and arrange a return within service hours.

Transfers, children and accessible rides
The town permits Castle Rock trips within its service area and to/from Lone Tree. Trips between nonadjacent zones such as Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Parker use a transfer hub in the app; the operator identifies Lincoln Station Transfer Hub and Safeway Transfer Hub. Request the next leg after arriving. Do not assume a through ride or a guaranteed connection.
For a wheelchair vehicle, complete the app's Accessibility Request or call 719-212-2430; approved wheelchair service unlocks door-to-door rides. Riders age 60+ or with disabilities can request accommodations and prebook at least 3 hours ahead. Under 13 requires a parent/guardian, and riders supply legally required child seats. Request the precise jail drop-off accommodation rather than assuming an app point has an accessible path. Phone booking does not create extra vehicles when demand exhausts capacity.

Finding someone held here
Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Before you travel, pay, or mail anything
Get two things first: which facility the person is actually in, and their booking or ID number. Almost nothing works without them. Then check this facility’s current instructions — rules and service providers change.
Clear information.
Clear boundaries.
Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.
Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?
No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.
Does posting bond mean the person comes home?
Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.
What should I confirm before visiting?
The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.
What if I find something that needs correcting?
Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
