Official Juvenile Detention page (checked 2026-09-12): Youth Visiting Hours Tuesdays 2:15 p.m.–7:45 p.m.; Saturdays 10:00 a.m.–7:45 p.m.; Sundays (Camp) 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Request a visit on that page or by calling (209) 468-5244. Call to schedule (209) 468-4000
Who may visit

Approved family first

Parents, grandparents, foster parents, legal guardians, or loco parentis. Youth’s child (accompanied). Siblings five or younger.

  • Official Youth Handbook: parents, grandparents, foster parents, legal guardians, or persons standing in loco parentis (as determined by the probation officer or the Court); the child of the youth accompanied by one of the above; siblings age five or younger. Visitors under five must be constantly supervised.
  • Leave identifying and contact information when you schedule (handbook). Government photo ID is the practical requirement at a secure hall — call (209) 468-5244 if you need the accepted-ID list.
  • Schedule during the posted youth visiting hours. Handbook: visiting staff make at least three callback attempts if you leave a message.
What not to bring

Contraband and items

  • Handbook is written for youth, not a visitor packing list. Call (209) 468-5244 before you bring anything. Do not assume adult-jail locker rules.
  • Adult-jail phones, SmartDeposit, and Securus do not apply here.
  • The live Juvenile Detention page is in-person visiting by request. It does not publish Zoom hours or an adult-jail vendor.

Physical hall is 575 W. Mathews Road. Youth Handbook (revised 06/25/2024) explains that detention staff scan incoming mail and may withhold mail that encourages violence, escape, gang activity, contraband, or racial/ethnic hatred. A dedicated publisher-only envelope beyond the hall street is not printed. Youth receive free postage for legal correspondence. Do not use adult-jail 999 W. Mathews mail.

Phone calls

How youth phone calls work

Youth Handbook: one phone call to parent(s) or legal guardian(s) at intake; they may also call a lawyer or employer. Handbook: minimum one 5-minute phone call per week; living-unit phones with staff approval. Threatening or abusive calls end phone privileges. A commercial family phone vendor is not named. Do not open a Securus or SmartDeposit account for a youth. Call (209) 468-4000. Call (209) 468-4000 rather than Jail Records (209) 468-4562.

Money

Can families send money here?

Reviewed Juvenile Detention page and Youth Handbook (checked 2026-09-12) do not offer a family commissary, SmartDeposit, or MyCarePack account for youth. Meals, clothing, and care are provided. Money taken at intake is stored in a separate safe and returned at release unless the Court holds it. Do not use smartdeposit.com or Securus. Adult-jail bail at Canlis Blvd / Honor Farm does not apply to a Juvenile Court youth — ask the hall (209) 468-4000.

This is not the adult jail deposit or commissary process. Do not send adult-inmate funds through a youth-campus workflow.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
