The Sheriff publishes no live name-search roster. Call (530) 283-6267. Official jail page: officers can release an inmate’s charges and bail amounts only. Court dates and release information will not be given out. For court information call the Plumas Superior Court clerk at (530) 283-6232. Jail411 does not host inmate names.

Before you leave home

Three things to confirm before the trip.

Visits are by appointment only. Call the jail before you drive — the jail landing still carries a COVID no-contact banner while the Visitation page publishes an appointment schedule.

  1. 01Confirm custody

    Call (530) 283-6267.

There is no live inmate name search. Ask if the person is still at the Correctional Facility and which visiting group they are in — females, males, protective custody, or AdSeg use different days and hours.

  2. 02Book a slot

    Appointment only. Call the jail.

Official Visitation page: the jail is no longer first-come, first-served. Schedule by calling (530) 283-6267. Match the published window for that housing group.

  3. 03Bring ID only

Valid government photo ID. Leave everything else in the car.

If you do not have a valid ID you will be asked to leave. Leave all items except ID in the vehicle, including phones and recording devices. Failure to do so can get you removed. Recently released from this jail: 30-day wait before you may visit. Minors must come with a parent or legal guardian.

The jail landing at /2170/Jail still shows a COVID no-contact order and ‘visitation is also suspended’ banner (still on that page 2026-09-12) while this Visitation page publishes the appointment schedule. Housing moves can change the window.

Published visit rules

Do not assume

These details are not published.

Ask the jail before setting out. Jail411 will not guess at a rule that could cause a missed visit.

Release and property

Bail, property, and commissary pickup

01Bail

Court 2026 bail schedules + call the jail

Jail landing: officers will release charges and bail amounts only. Cash, money orders, and cashier’s checks — no personal checks. Bond agencies must already be registered with Plumas Superior Court or they will be turned away. Court 2026 Uniform Bail & Penalty Schedules (effective Jan. 1, 2026) and 2026 Criminal Incarceration Bail Schedule (effective Feb. 10, 2026) are on plumas.courts.ca.gov/forms-filing/bail-penalty-schedules. Clerk (530) 283-6232. Posting a bond does not guarantee release if a probation hold, parole hold, or out-of-county warrant applies. An ICE detainer alone is not a lawful California hold (Gov. Code § 7284.6). This is the process, not a bondsman directory.

02Personal property

Meds and glasses at the counter; call for the rest

Jail landing: only medications and seeing glasses are accepted over the counter; all other items are denied. Correspondence page: items mailed in are returned or held in property until release. Detailed family property-release steps are not on the public jail pages. Call (530) 283-6267.

03After release

Not published — call (530) 283-6267

Not published on the reviewed Sheriff pages. Call (530) 283-6267.

After booking

Court, a lawyer, probation, and parole.

Court, counsel, and probation are separate from the jail. State parole is a different agency. This is the process a family actually has to walk—not a directory of private bondsmen or attorneys.

03 County supervision

Probation is not parole

A probation hold can block release after bail. Adult Pretrial Division publishes the same number. Youth detention is not this office — Plumas youth who must be detained are contracted to Tehama County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Chief Keevin Allred. Fax (530) 283-6165. Same suite as Victim/Witness. Not 1400 East Main Street and not the jail.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
