Release and property

Bail, property, and commissary pickup

01Bail

Cash at the jail cashiers window, or a licensed bond — Criminal Division is 400 County Center 4th Floor

Confirm Maple Street on the Inmate Locator or (650) 599-3000. Official Inmate Bail FAQs (checked 2026-09-12): cash bond at the cashiers window in the jail lobby, or a licensed bail-bond agency. The Sheriff’s bail-bond placard is posted in the Maguire lobby and during intake — Jail411 does not republish a bondsman directory. Criminal Division: 400 County Center 4th Floor, Redwood City, and 1050 Mission Road, South San Francisco, (650) 261-5100, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. 2026 Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedule and Felony/Misdemeanor Bail Schedule effective August 3, 2026 are on sanmateo.courts.ca.gov. Alternative Sentencing Bureau is at this same 1300 Maple Street campus, (650) 599-3030 — Work Program and Electronic Monitoring, not visiting. Posting a bond does not guarantee release if a hold applies. Official Immigration Detainers page: the Sheriff will not hold someone on an immigration request unless a judicial warrant or other statute/court decision requires it. An ICE detainer alone is not a lawful California hold (Gov. Code § 7284.6).

02Property

Approved Property Release — pickup at the Maguire lobby, 300 Bradford Street

Official MCF Visiting Information PDF (covers MCF and MSCC): property or clothing is not released unless the incarcerated person generated a Property Release form and it completed approval. Pickup is in the Maguire Facility lobby at 300 Bradford Street throughout the day as time permits — not at the Maple Street visitor door. Clothing is not released unless the person has been committed to a state facility.

03After release

Call (650) 599-3000 — pickup window not on the live Commissary page

Pickup window after release is not printed on the Commissary HTML. Call (650) 599-3000.

After booking

Court, a lawyer, probation, and parole.

Court, counsel, and probation are separate from the jail. State parole is a different agency. This is the process a family actually has to walk—not a directory of private bondsmen or attorneys.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
